Construction company WSP was named Consultancy of the Year at the Construction Week Awards 2018, held at Dubai’s JW Marriott Marquis hotel in Business Bay on 4 December.

Already a hotly contested category, the consultancy award this year attracted well over 20 companies in the initial round. Understandably, our judges have had to work hard to pick a winner among equals this year.

WSP was applauded by the judges for its commitment to the personal development of its employees. As well as contributing to the UAE’s updated fire and life safety code last year, the company has also been recognised by Dubai Municipality for its health and safety efforts.

Aecom repeated its successful run at the Construction Week Awards 2018, and was named Highly Commended Consultancy of the Year at the event. Aecom was praised by the panel for its ability to add value to its clients’ projects.

Judges were also impressed by the consultancy’s track record of GCC-wide projects, which include Oman’s Duqm Frontier Town and Master Plan and Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Aecom was also highly commended at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2018 this March.

In addition to WSP and Aecom, this year’s shortlist for Consultancy of the Year included AESG; Atkins; Aurecon; Black and White Engineering; DeSimone Consulting Engineers; Design Group Engineering Consultants; Hill International; KEO International Consultants; Khatib & Alami; Mace; Parsons; and Ramboll.

An independent panel of judges, comprising eight of the Middle East’s foremost construction experts, selected winners in 13 categories at the Construction Week Awards 2018.

Construction Week Awards 2018 were supported by Gold Sponsors ALEC, ASGC, Arabtec, and Al Naboodah; Silver Sponsors Future Metro, Unimix, and WME Consultants; Category Sponsors Construction Computer Software, Acrow, JLG, and Ramboll; returning Social Media Partner, WSP; Content Partner UGC Factory; and Post-Event Celebration Sponsor, Bam International.
