For its Revitalisation of Ghala Village project, Douglas OHI walked away with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative of the Year award at the Construction Week Awards 2018.
The initiative is designed to improve and promote community standards in heritage and tourism-focused destination, with members of the jury commending the nomination for combining engineering skills with positive CSR targets, leading to significant community benefits.
For its multiple CSR initiatives, Bam International was highly commended in this category. One judge praised Bam's investments for covering a wide spectrum of initiatives.
The shortlist for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative of the Year at the 2018 awards included, in addition to Douglas OHI and Bam International, AF Construction, Al Naboodah Construction Group, Arcadis, Nabih Elias Assam & Partners, and Dow Construction Chemicals.
Each year, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative of the Year category attracts some of the leading names in Middle Eastern construction. The judges of Construction Week Awards 2018 were given the unenviable task of identifying firms that have driven tangible change within the realm of corporate social responsibility, whether in services to the company’s employees, the wider community, or both.
An independent panel of judges, comprising eight of the Middle East’s foremost construction experts, selected winners in 13 categories at the Construction Week Awards 2018.
Construction Week Awards 2018 were supported by Gold Sponsors ALEC, ASGC, Arabtec, and Al Naboodah; Silver Sponsors Future Metro, Unimix, and WME Consultants; Category Sponsors Construction Computer Software, Acrow, JLG, and Ramboll; returning Social Media Partner, WSP; Content Partner UGC Factory; and Post-Event Celebration Sponsor, Bam International.
