Al Araimi Boulevard (ABLVD), a 7ha mall in Oman, is on track to open this September.

Developer Al Raid Group announced that construction of the “futuristic mall” is under way, with the facility progressing as scheduled.

The two-storey mall will feature a glass atrium, as well as a skylight spanning 5,190m2.

A press statement by Al Raid Group claimed that the mall would feature “the biggest food court”, and that its glass atrium and skylight would each be the “largest” of their kind. However, the statement does not provide the specifications of these elements.

ABLVD offers 7.05ha of leasable space, with entertainment options such as a cinema, kinetic lighting displays, and an outlet of Kid’s World – Oman’s largest such facility – planned for the mall.

Al Raid Group said the mall “combines cutting edge technology, design, and emerging concepts”, but did not reveal additional details of these features.

According to ABLVD's website, the facility is located in Muscat's Al Khoud locality, and is close to the Muscat International Airport.

Sheikh Raid Abdullah Al Araimi, vice chairman of Al Raid Group, said the project “is being built on a completely futuristic design and concept”, with the mall expected to generate 2,000 direct and indirect jobs for Omanis.

He continued: “Al Araimi Boulevard has been conceptualised keeping in mind the growing shopping and lifestyle needs of customers.

“Malls are no longer just shopping centres, they are complete lifestyle destinations. Our aim to infuse this idea and create an outstanding destination to provide an exceptional experience for visitors is about to come to life.”
