Majid Al Futtaim and Marriott International announced on Wednesday the opening of Aloft City Centre Deira in Dubai.

The property, owned and developed by Majid Al Futtaim, is the first hotel in the region to offer movie-themed suites, alongside a VOX Cinemas' OUTDOOR screen, and the Aloft brand’s signature programming.

Aloft features 304 loft-inspired rooms and suites – including four cinema-themed suites which include Bollywood, Hollywood, Agent House, and a specially created Dubai superhero suite.

The hotel also incorporates new technological solutions with the introduction of the SPG Keyless, an industry-first mobile check-in system where guests can use their mobile phones as room keys.

Construction on the project began in June 2016, with the building topping out in September 2017, an official from Majid Al Futtaim told Construction Week in an interview last year.

Jalil Mekouar, chief executive officer of hotels at Majid Al Futtaim – Properties said: “I’m delighted to announce the opening of the Aloft City Centre Deira, which is our 13th hotel in the region.

“This is a milestone moment for Majid Al Futtaim as we integrate our VOX Cinemas brand into one of our hotels for the first time.
