In the UAE – if not the GCC at large – companies are exploring how façades can contribute to net zero energy buildings that consume only as much energy as they generate.

In the latest episode of Construction Week Viewpoint – an exclusive SoundCloud podcast by Construction Week – the future role of façades in GCC construction is explored as the hunt for energy efficiency shows no sign of slowing down.

Experts have told Construction Week that developers should explore façade design as a way to reduce energy consumption in the building sector. In Dubai, the building sector uses 80% of all generated energy in the emirate.
