Aldar Properties has announced the commencement of handover activities at two of its projects in Abu Dhabi.

The developer said it has started handover on Nareel Island, located on the coast in Al Bateen, as well as at Al Merief, a plot development in Khalifa City that is being marketed to UAE nationals.

Aldar is also preparing for the handover of West Yas, on Yas Island, as construction of the project enters the final stages. Testing and commissioning works are currently underway on the project, the company revealed in a statement.

Meanwhile, substructure work has been completed on Aldar’s luxury golf and waterfront apartment development Mayan, with superstructure “well underway across the development”.

Aldar further noted that it is “making good progress” with the enabling work at The Bridges, a six-building, 1,272-home development on Reem Island, which was launched last year. The company said that main works should start “imminently”.

Its Meera project, on the other hand, is nearly fully enclosed, with HVAC fixing completed on both towers.

Moreover, expansion and renovation work at Al Jimi Mall, Aldar’s flagship asset in Al Ain, is entering final stages.

Due to to be completed at the end of this year, the expansion and renovation project will add 33,000m2 of retail, leisure, and food and beverage (F&B) space to the property, bringing its total gross leasable area to 76,000m2.

Earlier this month, Aldar launched its $2.7bn (AED10bn) Alghadeer masterplan, which will be developed within the company's Seih Al Sdeirah land bank, close to the border of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
