Work on the under construction Sharjah Academy of the Performing Arts (SAPA) is on track, it was reported on Wednesday.
HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inspected the project works progress and was briefed on the implementation of the construction process and facilities.
The building will include modern studios, a main theatre hall, a Roman theatre, and halls for performing exercises.
The facilities will be equipped with the latest audio and visual technologies, and will also provide advanced control devices that accompany the development of performing arts in their various forms.
The SAPA building will also include a number of student lounges and meeting spaces, classrooms, restaurants, and specialised library.
Sheikh Sultan was accompanied by Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, chairman of Sharjah Public Works Department, Dr Amro Abdul Hamid, director of the Sharjah Research Academy, and professor Peter Barlow, director of the Sharjah Academy of the Performing Arts.
