Hussain Faqihi has been appointed by Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) as the new manager for its casthouse operations.

According to the Bahrain-based aluminium smelter, Faqihi joined the company in 1996 as a trainee supervisor in Alba’s casthouse operations department.

He was promoted to supervisor in 1997, to superintendent in 2002, and then to senior superintendent in 2005

Commenting on Faqihi’s new role, Alba’s chief executive officer, Tim Murray, said: “Hussain’s promotion is in line with Alba’s strategy to promote employees from within the company, and to train and develop Bahrainis to prepare them for taking on leadership positions.

I am confident that Hussain, through his experience of more than 20 years in casthouse and metallurgy operations, will be a valuable asset to the success of the department.”

Faqihi holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bahrain and an MBA from ESSEC.

The smelter's casthouse department also got a new maintenance and service earlier this year, with the announcement of Hassan Qader's appointment.
