Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has announced the reopening of Rumah Secondary School and the unveiling a therapeutic feeding centre in Hadramaut, Yemen.

According to ERC, the newly reopened school, located in Rumah District, remained closed for more than 10 years, before being restored and retrofitted.

Abdul Aziz Al Jabri, head of the ERC team in Hadramaut, said that the organisation is committed to supporting local education, revealing that the school has been fitted with the necessary equipment and learning tools.

Meanwhile, the therapeutic feeding centre is located in Tarim General Hospital. Its development was funded by the ERC and launched by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Quoting Al Jabri, WAM stated that the opening of the centre is part of ERC's efforts, in collaboration with WHO, to revive the healthcare sector in the governorate.

The project reportedly aims to provide therapeutic feeding and medical care to children suffering from mild and severe cases of malnutrition, in compliance with international standards and WHO guidelines.
