The UAE's Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced the launch an online fire system application service.
Applications to install fire alarm systems in residences, and to link them with Civil Defence operation rooms, can now be made through the ministry's website.
Once an application is submitted, the applicant will be contacted by the suppliers of the system for installation.
MoI's smart service upgrade is in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
Additionally, under the aegis of Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior, HH Lt Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, MoI has also started linking apartments and villas with its operations rooms.
The system provided for the project is self-operated, and comprises a smoke detection sensor, and a voice alarm to ensure speedy evacuation.
Earlier this month, Sheikh Mohammed directed the connection of residential units with adequate fire safety systems, with the operation to be free-of-charge for those unable to afford its costs, state news agency, WAM, reported.
Maj Gen Jassem Al Marzouqi, General Commander of Civil Defence at MoI, said that the General Command would immediately implement the directive, and connect all residences to its early warning system.
