Al Basti & Muktha, a main contractor, and Bilt Middle East, an electromechanical sub-contractor, have completed the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software from ePROMIS.
The technology will serve to increase visibility, transparency, and the exchange of information across the organisation, according to the companies, which are subsidiaries of UAE-headquartered construction conglomerate, ABM Group.
ABM awarded ePROMIS Middle East & Africa (ePROMIS MEA) a contract to implement construction-specific ERP software to support its subsidiaries growing technological needs.
Al Basti & Muktha and Bilt Middle East used ePROMIS ERP to replace several legacy software systems in a bid to streamline processes, improve asset management, and facilitate the consolidation of business processes across the broader group.
V V Vaidyanathan, group finance manager of ABM, said: “The market is dynamic and unique challenges [have] to be faced every day. It was inevitable [that we would] choose an industry-specific ERP software from a reputed software company that understands the Middle East construction and contracting industry.
“ePROMIS was selected due to the strength of its project-based ERP system, and its reputation as a leading ERP consulting and systems integration company,” Vaidyanathan added.
ABM stated that its newly implemented ePROMIS ERP system would facilitate procurement and inventory management, project and resource planning, human capital management, and multi-currency and multi-company financial management.
MD Narayan, executive director of the conglomerate, said that the UAE would witness increased numbers of megaprojects during the coming years, with Expo 2020 Dubai just three years away.
Commenting on his group’s recent contract awards, Narayan continued: “Emaar Properties awarded us the construction contract for its Dubai Creek Residences project in Dubai Creek Harbour. This master-planned community is three times the size of Downtown Dubai, and is currently in the final stages of completion.
Other projects within ABM’s ongoing portfolio include Emaar’s Vida Residences in Downtown Dubai, and wasl Asset Management’s Mandarin Oriental hotel on Jumeirah Beach Road.
Gigi Varghese, senior project manager at ePROMIS MEA, commented: “Project cost reporting, profitability analysis, progress tracking, budget controls, earned value management, cost-value reconciliation, sub-contract management, and built-in BI dashboards are our specific capabilities for the construction sector.”
