Facilities management (FM) is a growth industry in the UAE and the numbers are there to prove it. According to a forecast from FM Expo 2017’s research partner, TechSci Research, the industry’s market size in the UAE will hit $12.49bn in 2017, an all-time high.
Fuelled by the $629bn worth of construction contracts predicted to be completed in the UAE by 2021, including the ongoing preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai, the FM industry faces a significant opportunity to develop as these projects pave the way for growth that looks likely to push the industry’s value beyond $17bn.
This potential for growth gives the industry a fantastic chance to consolidate the gains it has made in the UAE and the region over the last decade. For the past ten years, FM Expo has been attracting the region’s facilities management industry to come together to discuss trends, tackle challenges and source solutions so that the professionals within it can make the best of their opportunities. As we approach the eleventh edition of the event we will continue to support the FM industry’s development in the country, as it strives to reach its full potential.
The free-to-attend 2017 edition of FM Expo, the biggest dedicated FM show in the region, kicks off from September 25-27 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. A wide selection of local and international exhibitors will showcase the latest facilities management products and solutions looking to tackle issues such as the growing customer demands for reduced costs and improved services. Exhibitors will also address sustainability and energy saving projects, which continue to grow in importance in the local market, as well as giving visitors the chance to learn how the implementation of technology is increasingly relevant to the control of costs and improving operational efficiency.
A number of dedicated features areas — clean, waste, elevators, and new for this year an area for legionella — will form the focal point of the event, collecting specialist experts together allowing visitors to make the most of their time on site.
Moreover, the two day Facilities Management Congress Middle East (September 25-26) will see some of the industry’s key leadership, responsible for the region’s landmark projects, deliver a programme of insightful sessions addressing everything from the development of smart and sustainable cities to the management of super tall towers.
Further educational opportunities at the event will include a series of free workshops where industry experts will deliver presentations and demonstrations covering some of the latest products on the market, innovations making a real difference to how FM services are delivered, as well as the emerging technologies and regulations influencing the industry’s direction.
Educational content that allows professionals to update their knowledge swiftly and efficiently has become a hallmark of our events. In 2016 we welcomed more than 5600 participants to FM Expo and many cited the ability to update their skill sets as a key attribute of the event.
Visitors to FM Expo 2017 will also have the chance to explore three other related events, all through one simple and free registration process. The co-located shows include The Outdoor Design & Build Show, Windows, Doors & Facades Event, and Gulf Glass, all offering a wide array of products and expert technical insight to the event’s professional audience.
