Oman’s Ministry of Housing floated three tenders inviting contracting firms registered with the Sultanate's Tender Board to build single and twin villas in Liwa's residential areas.
The tenders are floated for three different zones — B, C and E — which will consist of several housing units in a newly developed residential area, according to Times of Oman.
The last date for submitting bids is 30 November, 2015, and they will be opened on the same day.
Oman has made heavy investments in the residential sector to resolve its housing problems.
The country's Supreme Council for Planning (SCP) is studying setting up of modern residential complexes to deal with the problem of scattered housing developments that are posing challenges to municipal bodies.
The traditional practice of building houses on land allocated by the Ministry of Housing has led to scattered development causing difficulties in providing utilities and other services, the report added.
